IDFA 2021: Interview of Ketevan Kapanadze, director of ‘How the Room Felt’ (World Premiere)

We had the pleasure of interviewing Georgian director Ketevan Kapanadze about her debut feature How the Room Felt, which premiered at IDFA 2021, in the International Competition.

As part of our coverage of IDFA 2021 (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam), running in Amsterdam from November 17th to 28th, we were delighted to attended the World Premiere of How the Room Felt (როგორი იყო ოთახი), shot and directed by Ketevan Kapanadze. The film is an intimate portrait of a turbulent community in a post-industrial city in Georgia, for whom the local female football club has become the shelter. What strikes in the film is the impressive proximity between the director’s camera and the characters. The use of direct cinema immerses us in this lively environment, and portrays the struggles and isolation of a relatable group of teenagers.

Discover the words of director Ketevan Kapanadze, with whom we were delighted to chat at IDFA 2021.
