Being an extra in ‘1917’
We interviewed Liam Edwards who played a British soldier in Sam Mendes’ award-winning ‘1917’.
“It’s maybe the biggest project I will have ever worked on!”
Liam Edwards was enrolled among about 500 extra for the shooting of Sam Mendes’ ‘1917’. This young soccer fan ended up playing a British soldier in the trenches in Bovingdon, in the South of London, for almost a week.
In his interview, Liam explains the content of the “physically demanding job” he performed for the shooting of ‘1917’ and describes the scene in which he is featured, alongside leading actors Dean-Charles Chapman and George MacKay. Finally, Liam described us the magical evening he had as he was attending the film premiere at the CineWorld iMax Cinema of Leicester Square in London.
